With a love of cinema’s more idiosyncratic directing auteurs, Maxwell has strived to express himself as purely as possible. Most notable merging the vulnerably personal with genre flourishes. Maxwell has created several personal short film projects. For instance, one of his earlier shorts was based on Albert Camus’ The Stranger. His time at the American Film Institute – Conservatory, along with his work as a performance artist has helped inform his more recent work. His thesis short “Outdooring” had its world premiere at the 2019 SXSW film festival.
